Private guitar instruction for all ages and levels. Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to take your playing to the next level - learn from a multi-instrumentalist with 17 years of guitar experience.

Why Learn Guitar in West Hollywood with Thaddeus?

I've been playing guitar for 17 years alongside my primary instrument (piano, 22+ years). As a multi-instrumentalist with a music degree from the University of Illinois, I bring a unique perspective to guitar lessons - connecting everything to music theory, ear training, and real musicianship rather than just memorizing tabs.

My studio is in the Fairfax District, right next to West Hollywood - easy to get to from Hollywood, Beverly Grove, Mid-City, and beyond. Whether you want to strum campfire songs, shred electric solos, fingerpick acoustic arrangements, or write your own music, I'll tailor lessons to your goals.

Common Questions

How much do guitar lessons cost?

Your first lesson is a free intro - a chance to meet, play, and figure out the best path forward. Regular lessons are $40 for 30 minutes or $60 for a full hour.

Do I need my own guitar?

Yes, having your own guitar for practice at home is important for making progress. If you don't have one yet, I can help you choose the right guitar for your budget and playing style - acoustic or electric.

What styles of guitar do you teach?

Acoustic, electric, fingerstyle, rock, blues, folk, pop, jazz basics, and singer-songwriter accompaniment. I also integrate music theory and ear training into every lesson so you understand why things sound the way they do.

Do you teach online guitar lessons?

Yes! I offer both in-person lessons at my West Hollywood studio and online lessons via Zoom or FaceTime. Online works well for guitar - just need a decent camera angle so I can see your hands.

What ages do you teach?

All ages - kids, teens, and adults. Complete beginners are always welcome. Many of my adult students pick up guitar for the first time and do great. There's no wrong time to start.
