Why Learn Ableton in Los Angeles with Thaddeus?

I've been producing music in Ableton Live for over 10 years - from hip-hop and electronic to film scoring and experimental sound design. With a music degree from the University of Illinois and years of professional production work, I teach Ableton the way I wish someone had taught me: practical, creative, and tailored to what you want to make.

My studio is in the Fairfax District, right next to West Hollywood - easy to reach from anywhere in central LA. Whether you're a complete beginner who's never opened a DAW, an intermediate producer stuck in the 8-bar loop, or an advanced user looking to level up your mixing and sound design, I'll meet you where you are.

Common Questions

How much do Ableton lessons cost?

Your first lesson is a free intro - a chance to meet, talk about your goals, and start making music. Regular lessons are $40 for 30 minutes or $60 for a full hour.

Do I need my own copy of Ableton?

Having Ableton at home is recommended so you can practice between lessons. Ableton Live Lite is free and works great for beginners. I can help you decide which version suits your needs.

Do I need any prior music experience?

Not at all. Many of my students come in with zero music background. I teach music theory alongside production so everything makes sense in context. If you already have experience, we'll skip ahead to what matters for you.

Do you teach online Ableton lessons?

Yes! Online lessons via Zoom with screen sharing work incredibly well for Ableton. I can see your screen, guide you in real time, and you're already at your own setup - which is ideal for production.

What will I learn in Ableton lessons?

Everything from the basics of navigating Ableton to advanced sound design, sampling, mixing, arrangement, and mastering. Lessons are always tailored to your genre and goals - whether that's making beats, producing electronic music, scoring film, or just learning how to finish songs.
